Required Experience:
Candidates for this position (“Science and Technology Management Grants”) should have a Ph.D. degree and, at least, 5 years of recognised research experience using MS techniques, namely MALDI TOF/TOF. Candidates with shorter experience in the technique, but with an outstanding Curriculum Vitae in the area of application, may also be considered. Experience in MS equipment management and maintenance, characterization of nanoparticles (e.g dendrimers) by MS and biochemical laboratory skills will be valued in the evaluation process.
Evaluation Criteria:
Candidates will be evaluated and ranked based on their Curriculum Vitae/research activity (maximum 25 points), experience in Mass Spectrometry (maximum 40 points), and research proposal (maximum 25 points). The 3 best-ranked candidates will be invited for interviews (online interviews; maximum 10 points).

Work Plan
- Development of scientific research using Mass Spectrometry, including in collaboration with other researchers at CQM in the field of natural products and nanomaterials;
- Technical maintenance of the CQM MS equipment, as well as optimization, implementation, and updating of techniques and procedures;
- Preparation of technical reports and scientific publications;
- Training of young researchers in the MS techniques;
- Promotion of activities in the framework of the Portuguese Mass Spectrometry Network;
- Participation in general CQM activities, such as science spreading and conference/course organization.
