As part of the collaboration between research groups at the CQM and the Instituto Superior de Agronomia of the University of Lisbon (ISA), the CQM welcomed doctoral student Joana Soares in January for an internship specialising in techniques for extracting and analysing the volatile composition of various matrices, particularly foodstuffs, using solid-phase microextraction coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC/MS).
