The Madeira Chemistry Research Center (CQM) organizes a short course about Science Communication to be held in the University of Madeira, from 12 to 13 december 2014.

The Science Communication Short Course was developed to input an ascending dynamics between the CQM’s research groups, increasing the quality of education for its students and researchers. 


 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This short course is an important tool to help students and scientists to develop their communication skills in order to improve their ability to transmit ideas and findings. 


Participants will explore the creative use of words, images, action and technology to obtain a more engaging role for science in public culture. 

Participants will also be introduced to tools and processes for individual reflection and group interaction designed not only to produce the insights about Chemistry in its social context, but also to deepen the people-connections valuable for seeing new paths and generating new opportunities.


Emphasis is on group discussion and work, and participants will be urged to create outside their usual medium of scientific communication.

Registrations are limited to CQM members.
