The Madeira Chemistry Research Centre of Madeira (CQM) has been at the Escola dos 2º e 3º ciclos Dr. Horácio Bento Gouveia (HBG) on the 4th of March 2020, where, within the scope of the "Mathematics Week" of the school, Prof. José Câmara - senior researcher at CQM - gave a lecture entitled "Influence of Mathematics in the Professions: Chemistry as a Case Study".

This communication, addressed to 9th grade students, aimed to share professional experiences that, directly or indirectly, relate to mathematical, logical or abstract reasoning.
