The Madeira Chemistry Research Centre (CQM) organizes, on September 16th, a peddy-paper alluding to the International Year of the Periodic Table for students of the 1st Cycle in Biochemistry. Starting at 3 pm, at the CQM Laboratory and the UMa Library, at the Penteada Campus, the activity aims at making the students aware of the importance of the Periodic Table in the development of society and also to make known the CQM, which is the unit.
Research that gives scientific support to the degree in Biochemistry. The CQM is part of the National Commission for the Periodic Table Celebrations of the Year. In this context, it has actively participated in initiatives developed at national level, as well as supported the various activities promoted by schools in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. These include the construction of a Human Periodic Table, the Global Women’s Breakfast networking event and various conferences and lectures in the region's elementary and secondary schools. The celebration decreed by the United Nations General Assembly and UNESCO is an opportunity to recognize the importance of the Periodic Table as one of the most important achievements of modern science and is a central element in the most diverse areas of knowledge.
