CQM is pleased to invite you to the lecture on "From Engineering to Artificial Intelligence: A Global Journey of Innovation", featuring Fernando Damasio, Executive Director of Data Riders Consultancy and Education Ltda.
Details of the Event:
Date: 29 April 2025
Time: 11h00 (PT, Lisbon time)
Venue: University of Madeira, Campus da Penteada, conference room 0.57.
Abstract: Technology’s evolution has always been shaped by people willing to cross physical and intellectual boundaries — and Fernando Damasio is one of them. His journey began in the United States, teaching machine learning and self-driving technologies in Mountain View, right at the heart of Silicon Valley. From there, he brought his expertise to India, expanding global access to applied AI education. He then moved to France, where he launched a company focused on practical AI applications. Originally from Brazil, Fernando eventually returned home, where he now applies this global experience to major initiatives in the mining sector — leading the integration of AI in audits (such as GISTM - Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management), process automation, performance monitoring, and digital transformation. This talk blends his personal path with the evolution of AI, showcasing real-world projects and a glimpse into what lies ahead.
Space is limited, so please be sure to complete your registration as soon as possible.
